A Kenthurst man is fighting for his life after falling from a tree at his home this morning.

The 70-year-old man sustained head and spinal injuries after falling three metres while cutting tree branches on his property in Lukas Avenue, just before 10.30am.

Ten minutes later a CareFlight helicopter and an ambulance rushed to the scene where doctors and paramedics treated the man on the spot.

CarFlight then flew the man to Royal North Shore Hospital for more treatment.

The hospital said the man remains in a serious condition.
