Student leaders: Excelsior Public School

This week’s student leaders are from Excelsior Public School in Baulkham Hills. Their motto is High Ideals, High Expectations, High Achievements. Read their Q&A:

1. What is unique about your school?

Madeline Arnold, VC: High ideals, safe, respectful, reponsible and caring. Both the infants and primary playground is colourful. We have K-6 playground every Monday.

Ben Guven, VC: The people who come here.

Ashleigh McKenzie, C: Everyone is kind and respectful, we have a very colourful playground and we have fantastic teachers.

Christopher Lynn, C: The people and students who come here and make our school.

2. What do you want to do when you leave school?

Madeline Arnold, VC: I would like to be a high school P.E. teacher, vet, zoo keeper, physiotherapist, personal trainer and train monkeys.

Ben Guven, VC: I want to be a geologist.

Ashleigh McKenzie, C: I would like to be an artist, but since you can't make a living from that, I would like to be involved with animals-vet, zoo keeper, zoologist.

Christopher Lynn, C: I probably want to work with animals as a keeper or as a marine biologist.

3. Why do you think being a school leader is important?

Madeline Arnold, VC: I think being a school leader is important because you should keep your friends and students safe.

Ben Guven, VC: It's important because you need to be a good role model for younger people and set an example.

Ashleigh McKenzie, C: I think being a school leader is important because you can represent your school by going to different places and being a good role model for younger peers.

Christopher Lynn, C: We are role models and we need to set a good example for our younger students.

4. If you were principal what would you introduce?

Madeline Arnold, VC: More sport, a P.S.S.A touch football team.

Ben Guven, VC: A rugby union team.

Ashleigh McKenzie, C: If I was principal I would introduce karate sparing as a P.S.S.A sport-non contact sport.

Christopher Lynn, C: I would have a snow day with skiing and snowboarding using a massive snow machine.
