THE Castle Hill RSL Club Sub-branch is calling for entries for its poetry competition, titled Spirit of Anzac.
The competition has been organised in the lead-up to Anzac Day next year — the 100th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli.
"It's being run alongside the student program," said the competition organiser, Bill Dokter, of Kellyville.
He was referring to a project that will see year 11 students research the 516 soldiers from The Hills who served in the war, to mark the centenary in 2015 of Australian and New Zealand soldiers' first landing at Gallipoli.
"Everything we're running is for this electorate only," he said.
Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at a civic lunch on April 21 next year.
The winners' names will be published in the local media and announced on community radio Alive 90.5.
