Baulkham Hills Football Club recently held a Fiji Appeal to donate football and soccer equipment to Ratu Nalewavada Public School in Nadi, Fiji.

Organised by resident Kaye Cooper, the appeal was instigated after a trip Cooper and her family made to the Fijian Islands earlier in the year.

Cooper’s two young children, Emma and Tyler, enjoyed meeting the Fijian children, playing with them and swimming in the waterfall together, as they experienced Fijian village life with their island peers.

Cooper and her family were struck by the friendliness of the villagers, who warmly welcomed them with songs upon their visit to the local village school.

“To express our gratitude, I was assisted by the committee and members of Baulkham Hills Football Club to provide sporting goods to the children of Ratu Nalewavada Public School”, Cooper said.

"Knowing how fortunate our children are to play such a wonderful game, and keen to share the football experience with those less fortunate, the club donated playing shirts, soccer balls and a pump for the enjoyment of the village children for many years to come."

The club members contributed to the appeal, by raising funds to cover the cost of postage of the donated items.
