SAMUEL Gilbert Public School is gearing up for its Great Fete with a dress rehearsal and last-minute touches to many games, stalls and activities being planned.

The Great Fete, on Sunday, August 17, attracts more than 6000 people a year.

This year's attractions include 15 amusement rides, including dodgems, sizzler, pony rides, 50 market stalls, an international food court, plus novelty events like 'dunk the teacher', Hoopla, a silent auction and more.

Principal Andrew Bowmer praised the broader school community for the great job in preparing for the fete.

"Thanks to the broad community involvement, there are some diverse attractions on offer at this year's fete, with something to appeal to all ages," he said.

"We expect the fete to attract people from across The Hills and beyond."

Profits go towards school projects including the refurbishment of basketball courts and outdoor play areas.
