Two adults and four children were lucky to escape a fire in their Dural home this morning.
Fire and Rescue NSW responded to reports of a house alight on Old Northern Road shortly before 6.30am.
Firefighters arrived a short time later to find the house alight, flames issuing from the top roof.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus began firefighting operations and upgraded their response to a second alarm.
The two adults and children managed to escape the fire before firefighters arrived.
They are believed to have suffered smoke inhalation and were treated by ambulance paramedics on scene before being taken to hospital.
Firefighters are continuing to work to extinguish the fire and investigate the cause.
