THE boys and girls at Samuel Gilbert Public School are excited about the chance to send their principal and three of their teachers plunging into a pool of cold water.
The "dunk a teacher" game is simple: if students hit a target with a basketball hard enough, the teachers will fall into the water — all in the name of fun at the Castle Hill school's annual fete on Sunday.
The dunk tank is one of many activities at the fete which will also include rides, games and international food stalls to help raise money for the school.
"We want to give children much greater access to technology," principal Andrew Bowmer said.
The school only has one computer lab which is shared between 26 classes.
"Each child can only spend about one hour a week on a computer, and that's just not enough in this day and age," he said.
The event is organised by the school's Parents & Citizens Association.
The profits from previous fetes have provided the school with a smart board and airconditioning.
