RADIO Active Live's next two shows this month have sold out.

Now is the time to book for the October 12 and 19 performances at The Hills Lodge.

Hills resident Steve Comey played Kevin Palmer in the television drama Sons and Daughters in the early 1980s and won a Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent.

Comey now plays to local audiences as a core member of Radio Active Live, a group of Hills actors who present live radio plays to audiences at The Hills Lodge Hotel on Sunday afternoons.

Comey said he loved the characters he played for Radio Active Live.

"We sometimes have to come up with five or six different voices and characters — anything from Tonto in The Lone Ranger, to a cockney postman in London or a French detective," Comey said.

"It's a real challenge and lots of fun. We are a core of eight actors and when a play has a large cast we often have to double up on parts.

"In one production I had to play two characters, but they had a small scene together. It was pretty tricky changing voices and keeping up a conversation with yourself."
