Get along to Castle Towers on Saturday to cheer on the last of the entrants in this year’s Crestwood Idol.
The third and fourth heats of the annual talent competition will run from 10am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 3pm.
‘‘We were oversubscribed this year,’’ the chairman of the organising committee, John Ebbott, said.
‘‘We have 48 entrants; that’s the maximum we can take for the four heats.’’
Contestants will be judged by Home and Away actor Lynne McGranger, newsreader Ron Wilson and radio personality Gareth McCray, Australian-American actor Katherine Hynes and Castle Towers marketing co-ordinator Holly Pedersen.
Lucky ones chosen will move on to the grand final, to be held at the all-day family festival Crestwood Fair on Sunday, September 14.
The festival is part of The Hills Council's longest-running event, the Orange Blossom Festival.
This will be the 24th fair.
‘‘One year it was rained out; that’s the only year we didn’t have one,’’ Mr Ebbott said.
Other entertainment at the festival includes Circus Unique performing juggling, stilt walking, plate spinning, unicycling, diabolo and hoops lessons; market stalls; a rock climbing wall and a mobile game theatre.
