Thousands of visitors attended The Kings School’s Spring Festival on August 23 and 24.
The weekend included artwork displays, vintage British cars, high tea in the gardens of a Victorian mansion, sporting clinics, show appearances by characters from How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Dirtgirlworld and a myriad of carnival entertainment for children of all ages.
The King’s Art Prize Retrospective, the Gowan Brae and the Horrocks Hall Art exhibitions were also on with of more than 1,000 paintings, etchings, photographs and sculptures by prominent local and international artists.
The King’s School headmaster Tim Hawkes said the festival and the King’s Annual Art Show have has become a highlight event on the Sydney calendar.
“The weekend has flourished into an event for all Sydneysiders; not only for those directly connected to The King’s School,’’ he said.
‘‘It is a celebration of the arts and of community.’’
