Finalists and winners of the inaugural Sydney Hills Business Awards for Community Contribution were recognised on Wednesday at an awards night at The Hills Council chambers.
An initiative of local businessman Adjunct Professor Jim Taggart and Baulkham Hills state MP David Elliott — with support from The Hills mayor Michelle Byrne — the awards recognise local businesses that have shown great support for community groups, events, services and organisations.
More than 100 nominations were received.
"We are a generous shire, and our business people are no exception," Cr Byrne said.
"Everyone who entered the Sydney Hills Business Awards for Community Contribution deserves our thanks and recognition."
Of the nine winners, three earned the title of "Champion", to reflect their ongoing contributions.
They were Castle Hill businesses, Castlehaven Realtors and Robert Cliff Master Jeweller, and Paul Seaton from Xzibit Pools and Spas in Kellyville, who was singled out for individual contribution.
Five businesses and three individuals were also recognised as "outstanding".
