Pelotone was a finalist for community contribution at the recent 2014 Sydney Hills Business Awards.
The awards, which was established in a partnership between the Sydney Hills Business Chamber and The Hills Council, recognise the outstanding contribution businesses make to the local community.
Karen Newham, director of Pelotone based at Bella Vista, said she has a love for her business and her community.
‘‘I have a soft spot for local volunteer work and for always giving and helping others through my new business,’’ Ms Newham said.
‘‘The awards provide a great opportunity to highlight some of the wonderful work local businesses are doing in the area to support community, not-for-profit and charity organisations.
“Given we only opened the business eight months ago makes it even more humbling.’’
Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne congratulated Ms Newham.
‘‘Karen Newham is a local success story and she wants to give back to the community and has created a business where people can improve their fitness and well being,’’ Cr Byrne said. ‘‘Karen’s goal is to help contribute to a healthier, happier Hills community.’’
