The Castle Hill branch of the CWA recently received a community grant from The Hills Council for the purchase of a replacement stove for the CWA rooms at Castle Hill.
Each year CWA members throughout NSW study all aspects of a nominated country and this year it is Botswana.
Branches have a luncheon featuring the food of the country and a guest speaker who either comes from the country or has visited.
Castle Hill branch member Karen Sinclair, who had recently visited Botswana, told members of her experiences and showed pictures of her experiences.
The lunch was also attended by a young researcher from Botswana, Kabo Mathlo, who is studying in Australia.
St Gabriels School participates and this year, as well as making posters about Botswana, made colourful water carrying containers such as the ones used in Botswana.
Representatives from Castle Hill Red Cross also attended.
