Mitchell MP Alex Hawke is among the latest Hills identities to take up the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
His federal colleagues Lucy Wicks (Robertson MP) and Fiona Scott (Lindsay MP) did the honours on the front lawn of Parliament House, Canberra.
Mr Hawke was challenged by many friends and colleagues including David Ali, president of Motor Neurone Disease Australia, to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge.
He said there were "a lot" of people who wanted to dump a bucket on him.
“The point of this ALS campaign, known in Australia as motor neurone disease (MND), is to raise vital funds for research to ensure we find a cure for this appalling disease," Mr Hawke said.
“Thank you to the 30,000 Australians who have participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge so far with $1.6 million raised going towards research."
Mr Hake has nominated his friend and colleague, Scott Morrison (Minister for Immigration and Border Protection), Dave Smith (CEO of the National Rugby League), The Hills' new mayor Andrew Jefferies, and outgoing mayor and new deputy mayor Michelle Byrne.
