THE race is on to give children with a disability or developmental delay the best start possible.
The third annual Hills News M2 Run for the Hills on November 23 will support Lifestart, a Baulkham Hills charity that provides life-changing early intervention to babies and preschoolers with a disability.
The charity has supported more than 1000 families this year.
Lifestart chief executive Suzanne Becker is delighted to be part of Run for the Hills once again.
"The team at Reach for the Rainbow do a wonderful job in putting Run for the Hills together and we are so proud to be the beneficiary of the day," she said.
"We encourage all the community to participate and either run or walk the course, volunteer on the day or enjoy the festivities. All your support will assist Lifestart provide programs and support to children and young people and their families and carers."
Proceeds will go towards Sing and Grow, Lifestart's eight-week music therapy program for ages 0-3 and their families.
Sessions increase positive interaction between parents and their children, enhance each child's development, build social support networks and increase parents' confidence to use play with their child at home through music.
"It is so wonderful to see the benefit that last year's fund-raising efforts have had on these gorgeous children and their families," Run for the Hills founder and chairwoman Yvonne Keane said.
"With support we can continue to help to change little lives."
All donations received go directly to Lifestart and every donation over $2 is tax deductible.
