Bella Vista Farm Park plays host to 17 Disney-themed sand sculptures this summer.
You don't have to go all the way to the beach to see spectacular sand sculptures this summer.
Bella Vista Farm Park will host the Sydney Hills International Sand Sculpting Exhibition which attracts some of the world's best sand sculptors.
For a month from Boxing Day, the Farm presents a Disney-themed exhibition entitled A Friend In Me — Celebrating Disney Pixar.
The exhibition will see 17 sand sculptures based on popular Disney and Pixar movies including Toy Story, The Incredibles, Cars and Finding Nemo.
More than 450 tonnes of sand will be used to create the sculptures, with sculptors needing two weeks to complete their masterpieces before they go on display to the public.
The Hills mayor Andrew Jefferies, said this was a large scale event for The Hills region.
"This is a huge event which will take weeks to set up," he said.
The exhibition is considered something of a major coup for The Hills, with previous major sand sculpture exhibits like the world championships being held in the Hawkesbury for the past three years.
There are also children's activities on offer.
■ The exhibition at Bella Vista Farm Park will run from December 26 to January 26.
■ Tickets: Adults $14, concession $11, children $6, family $32, children under three are free.
■ Tickets can be bought online at http://sandstormevents.com or at the gate.
