SYDNEY'S newest pop-up cinema opened its doors last night in The Hills.
The inaugural Sydney Open-Air Cinema will screen 23 movies over 19 nights across an array of genres at Castle Hill Heritage Park.
Tonight's (April 2) screening is of 2014 biopic The Theory of Everything, which deals with Jane Wilde Hawking's relationship with her ex-husband, theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, his diagnosis of motor neurone disease, and his success in physics. It starts at 7pm.
Kingsman: The Secret Service is on Friday, at 7pm, followed by Fifty Shades of Grey (Saturday, 7pm), Dirty Dancing (Sunday, 7pm), children's blockbusters Paddington and Big Hero 6 (Monday and Tuesday, respectively, from 6.30pm).
The Hills mayor Andrew Jefferies said he knows residents will flock to the pop-up cinema, and give added exposure to the park.
"It's ideal for families, corporate groups, couples and film buffs," he said. Visitors can dine on cheeseburgers from Glenhaven's The Tuckshop, or satisfy their sweet tooth with choc tops from Gelato Messina.
The Hills Open-Air Cinema has a fully-licensed bar, candy bar, free parking, and bean bag and rug hire.
