Police have arrested and charged a suspected burglar in Baulkham Hills following a major operation in northwest Sydney yesterday.
Police were called to Chapel Lane, Baulkham Hills following reports of a break-in about 11am yesterday, Wednesday, August 29.
A female resident told police she disturbed an intruder after she returned home.
The Hills police searched the house but the man had fled.
Officers established a perimeter and searched the area with the assistance of the highway patrol, dog squad and Polair.
There were several sightings of the man over the next two hours.
Around 1pm, police cornered the man in Crestwood Reserve and he was arrested.
The 22-year-old man has been charged over two break-ins on Chapel Lane and police expect to lay further charges over similar recent incidents in the area.
He has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court later today.
