Title defence starts well

WEST Pennant Hills Cherrybrook Cricket Club started the defence of their A-grade crown with a round one victory over Kissing Point in the Twenty20 TriForce Cup on the weekend.

The home team made a strong start to the game to finish 3/172 from 20 overs.

Brendan Ham smashed 41 runs before last season's top run scorer Daniel Anderson teamed up with Sol Tomlinson to hit 120 runs in 13 overs.

Spin bowler Peter Stott ensured victory with four wickets in the second innings to dismiss Kissing Point for 111.
