The British royal family spent more than $10 million on travel last year.
According to the British royal family's recently published Royal Travel Appendix, which records travel by the royal family costing £10,000 ($20,330) a year or more, the Mountbatten-Windsor clan spent £5.1 million ($10.3 million) on travel in the year ending March 31, 2015.
This year 63 trips taken by royals were of significant enough cost to be recorded in the appendix, up from 47 the previous year.
The royal who ate up most of the year's budget was Prince Charles, who managed to spend £1.2 million ($2.44 million) on 17 trips throughout the year.
Prince Charles also had the honour of taking the most expensive trip by a royal, with the one-week visit to Central America taken by Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, costing £446,159 ($908,575).
The couple visited Mexico and Colombia by charter flight on the November trip, during which they partook in traditional Day of the Dead festivities as well as visited the world's first Cornish pasty museum.
A read of the family's accounts reveals the Prince of Wales' trips were overwhelmingly more expensive than those taken by his family members, with the three trips on the list that cost more than £200,000 all belonging to Charles.
One possible explanation is that all of Prince Charles' air travel was done on chartered planes as opposed to say, his son the Duke of Cambridge, who overwhelmingly travelled on scheduled flights.
However, the cost of Charles and Camilla's Central American adventure does seem a bit excessive, particularly when you consider his other son, Prince Harry, managed to tour South America for a week on less than £90,000 ($183,000).
Interestingly, the trip the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to Australia in April 2014 is not listed, meaning it is likely it did not cost more than £10,000 ($20,330).
Travel accounted for just over 14 per cent of the royal family's £35.7 million ($72.81 million) expenditure last year.
The royals can start planning their 2015 getaways after the announcement that the Sovereign Grant, which funds the Royal Family, will increase by 6.7 per cent to nearly £43 million ($87.7 million) next year.
However, there is a chance the increase in cash will be short-lived.
The UK Telegraph says the deal between British Prime Minister David Cameron and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to hand devolved powers to Scotland could result in a reduction of revenue for the royals.
The newspaper reports a courtier said Scotland would not be contributing to the funds used to calculate the Sovereign Grant, which is 15 per cent of the Crown Estate's profits from general taxation
In 2014/15 the Crown Estate's holdings in Scotland generated a profit of £14.6 million ($28.54 million), of which 15 per cent, or £2.1 million ($4.28 million), went towards the Sovereign Grant calculation.
If the changes go ahead, Prince Charles might need to join Kate Moss on EasyJet.
