Blacktown rapper MC Losty will bring the western Sydney rap "flavour" to the first Electro Circus event at Rosehill Gardens next month.
Aaron "MC Losty" Robinson, 34, said it's "about time" there was an event with this calibre of acts in western Sydney.
‘‘The venue is perfect for such a big party and the event ticks all the right boxes,’’ he said.
‘‘I think it will set a new benchmark in the area.’’
Event organisers are promising the "ultimate indoor music festival".
"Festival-goers will be immersed in an audio-visual experience designed to stimulate all of their senses, witnessing cutting-edge production, spine-shattering sound and a range of circus acts, acrobats and dancers," a spokesman said.
Despite not being part of the line-up at the festival, MC Losty is "really excited" to be part of it.
"I'll be at Electro Circus to be the icing on the cake, pump up the crowd and jump in there [to sing] a few few times," he said.
The self-confessed "genre-less" rapper started his career as a DJ and MC at the old Blacktown Ice Rink and maintains his connection to the area by recording at the Electric Sun studio.
As well as releasing his EP Losty Legacy Chapter 1 Starting Again (which peaked at number three in the iTunes hip hop charts) he performs and teaches graffiti art workshops throughout western Sydney.
"I'm working on a second album now," he said.
‘‘Hip hop is where my core and my foundation is but I’m pretty open minded and when I give my art to the world I like collaborating with other artists.’’
