FORMER Tasmanian Liberal boss Damien Mantach's overspending of almost $50,000 in party funds has been referred to police, as the state branch seeks to amend its return for the 2007-08 financial year due to ``an administrative oversight''.
Deputy Commissioner Scott Tilyard confirmed Tasmania Police received a letter from state opposition leader Bryan Green and said that the matters would be assessed.
The referral came a day after state director and then party treasurer Sam McQuestin requested the Australian Electoral Commission change its political Party disclosure return from eight years ago, to include personal expenses Mr Mantach charged to his part credit card, which he repaid.
The paperwork requested three sums, each in excess of $12,000, be added onto the document.
