Phil Baker's beaten them all.
The financial journalist for the Australian Financial Review was the only one to make a profit from the last four weeks of trading.
We'd say our competitors ought to be embarrassed by these results, but then they did have to deal with an imploding Chinese stock market, and wild gyrations in Europe and the US.
It explains why everyone – except Baker – lost Sunday Money's money. Lucky we're doing so well.
So how did Baker avoid the shrapnel? He put his money on a Silicon Valley company called 1-Page. It had already built up a bit of steam by the time Baker picked it, but once he did it surged another 90 per cent in value.
Not bad. From a nominal investment of $10,000 it was worth $24,505 four weeks later. If it hadn't been for that selection, Baker's portfolio would have lost money too. That's worth thinking about.
An honourable second place goes to the Ben-ites. They lost $1671 overall, in tough conditions, leaving a $13,809 gap between them and Mr Baker.
Ben Power managed to hang on for third place. Despite all the carnage he still only lost $4777. Well done.
The next four contestants lost between $6000 and $7000, so they're all sitting within a tight $1000 range of each other.
Richard Pritchard, the industrious chartist, came fourth, losing $6044. Ben Richards, the lion-hearted youngster, slipped back into fifth position after losing $6129, which is much better than some other competitors. The team called 8 Mugs, despite their self-deprecation, came sixth after losing $6876. Trading for Blondes came seventh, losing $6924. They all could have been higher or lower, depending on slightly different global events.
The Dartboard, however, should stick to being a tired game for drunks.
