A paddle border reported missing in waters off the NSW north-coast has been found safe and well.
Police appealed for public assistance after the woman went missing moments before a whale breached in waters off Hastings Point, in the Tweed Shire, at 1.15pm on Friday.
A number of people identified the missing paddle boarder and got in contact with her.
The woman told officers that she was in fact knocked off her board by a whale, but was able to get back on it and paddle to safety.
A police spokesman said the woman herself also contacted police.
