Hundreds of people lined up from 4am this morning to purchase the newest Apple product the iPhone 5.
Apple released the new phone globally today and crowds flocked to the Apple Store at the Castle Towers to pick up the latest gadget.
It's being marketed as the thinnest, lightest, fastest iPhone ever, but Russell Scarf wants the iPhone 5 "just because".
"I've had every other one the first day it came out," Mr Russell from Kellyville said.
"I'm young, I like the technology," he said.
"I like the hype."
Mr Russell said he lined up three-and-a-half hours at the Pitt Street, Sydney, store when the iPhone 4 was released.
"It's always worth it," he said.
Asked why she had lined up for the new iPhone 5, Laura Harris from Helensburgh held up an iPhone with a screen cracked in multiple places by way of explanation.
"It has the new panorama effect," Ms Harris said of the iPhone 5.
She said her iPhone 4 was invaulable to her.
