Oakhill Drive netball given financial boost

Oakhill Drive Netball Club’s equipment and first aid kits will be upgraded with a $1200 Telstra Kids Fund grant.

Telstra countrywide area general manager for Sydney North, Andrew Bogg, said the grants provide the opportunity for local organisations to purchase what they need to ensure the wellbeing of their children.

Kyah Simon added to her international tally with a goal in the Australian Matildas’ 4-0 friendly win over Haiti.

The former Pacific Hills Christian School student headed in the team’s third goal in the 15th minute and was later substituted in the 62nd minute after a solid first-half display.

Simon also featured as a late substitute in the Matildas’ 2-1 loss to world number one-ranked side, the United States, last Monday.

Roller derby action

The 2012 Hawkesbury Hills Roller Derby League will resume next month on October 27.

First home game — the ‘‘Bout of the Living Dead’’ — will feature a pre-game male version of the sport known as Merby.
