The whistleblower who exposed alleged corruption at Reserve Bank currency printing subsidiaries has revealed he wrote directly to governor Glenn Stevens last year to express his frustration over his mis-treatment.
Former Note Printing Australia executive Brian Hood has also revealed to a parliamentary committee that he was warned in 2008 by the RBA's deputy governor—the recently retired Ric Battellino— never to speak about the corruption issues that he had uncovered.
He told the committee that he believes he was victimised by the RBA after he raised corruption concerns in 2007 involving overseas agents used by NPA and sister company Securency to win central bank currency supply contracts.
Mr Hood was forced out of his job as NPA company secretary in September 2008 by assistant RBA governor Bob Rankin, who was also chairman of Note Printing Australia and Securency at that time.
Mr Hood's testimony raises fresh questions for Mr Stevens and Mr Battellino, who are both to appear before a separate parliamentary hearing into the bribery affair on Monday.
Mr Hood is now giving in-camera testimony to the joint committee on Australian law enforcement integrity, which is examining corruption risks faced by Commonwealth officials posted overseas.
Austrade officials will later today appear before the committee to answer questions about the agency's involvement in the RBA bribery scandal.
NPA and Securency, along with eight former executives, were last year charged by the federal police with bribery offences in Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Nepal.
