CASTLE Hill RSL is hosting a Bubbles 4 Breast Cancer Cocktail reception on October 22 at 6.30pm for Pink Ribbon Day.
Last week, RSL staff honoured colleague Kerrie-Anne Perry, who was diagnosed with breast cancer three days before last Christmas and is now on the road to recovery.
"For any women just starting their journey with breast cancer, I know how daunting and frightening it can be," she said. "But keep your chin up, there is light at the end of the tunnel."
The funds raised go to the Cancer Council to put towards support groups and the Cancer Helpline where women can speak to experienced cancer health professionals for advice, information or to chat to someone who understands.
Tickets: $29 which includes bubbly and canapés, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council.
The club also welcomes donations of prizes or gift vouchers to be used in the raffle and auctions on the night.
Details: 8858 4800.
■ The RSL is inviting Hills businesses to make a bra for its annual Beautiful Bra Competition for the cost of a donation to the Cancer Council.
Bras will be displayed in the RSL's foyer from October 20, with the winning design announced at the club's Bubbles for Breast Cancer cocktail reception on October 22.
