It can be hard to decide between gas and electricity when cooking. Cooking that special dish to perfection, may require one or the other, but bi energy will have you cooking with gas – and electricity – in no time.
Glem Gas managing director, David Gilmore said bi energy refers to a cooker with an oven that can switch between gas or electric cooking modes.
“The user selects their preferred energy option based on what they’re cooking each time,” he said.
“This unique concept was invented 15 years ago in Glem’s Sydney warehouse and now thousands of these cookers, manufactured at the Glem Gas factory in Modena, have been sold globally.”
Gas is often a preferred option when choosing a stove because it is more economical than electricity, but Mr Gilmore said bi energy cooker allowed chefs to experiment with different outcomes using electricity or gas.
“Gas is a moist heat and is a preferred option for creating succulent roasts,” he said.
“For instance, roasting a leg of lamb using gas makes a significant difference to the amount of shrinkage and moisture left in the meat after it has been cooked.
“Electricity provides dry heat, making it ideal for recipes that call for moisture to be removed during the cooking process.
“For example, baking brownies in an electric oven creates a more even rise and consistency.”
Mr Gilmore said it was important to consider the types of cooking people perform when choosing a bi energy cooker.
“Roasting meat is totally superior in a gas oven whereas baking can be very effective using an electric oven,” he said.
“Bi energy provides such flexibility in cooking that it changes the way we think.
“Never before has there been the opportunity to choose how we cook – bi energy brings another element of discovery into cooking – bi energy is fun.”
Glem Gas is an Italian manufacturer of cooking appliances, and has been a top selling cooker brand in Italy for many years.
“The local warehouse in Sydney also has a spare parts division while a network of service technicians around the country offers support to customers around Australia,” Mr Gilmore said.
