Like many students in The Hills Max Sudiro and Khanh Nguyen are counting down the days until their Higher School Certificate (HSC) begins on Monday.
The Gilroy College pair will sit for their first English exam on Monday afternoon.
To prepare for their final exams the pair have been studying up to 35 hours a week for most of this year.
‘‘We both hope to do well and go off to university next year,’’ Max said.
Max hopes to continue his interest in science and study a bachelor of physiotherapy at the University of Western Sydney.
His classmate Khanh has targeted a place at the University of NSW to study engineering.
‘‘I’m slightly nervous about the english exam because it’s my weakest subject,’’ Khanh said.
‘‘We’ve been told by our teacher and old year co-ordinator, Mr Finucane, to stay calm because the good grades will come to those who work hard.’’
To prepare for the English paper Max and Khanh have been looking at past papers and practicing comprehension, creative writing and essay writing.
‘‘We’ve gone through as many papers as we can and come Monday we’ll be ready for whichever question they give us.’’
