This week we meet the captains of Galston Public School at Galston. Their motto is 'Honest Work and Fair Play'.
1. What is unique about your school?
Joshua Webb: We are lucky to have such great teachers and principal. We are such a small school regardless of what year you're in, everyone plays together.
Georgia Randall-Quard: We are like a big happy family and we all know each other.
Mason Neil: Because it is small and everyone knows each other.
Tiana Tadrosse: The relationship between the students and teachers.
2. What do you want to do when you leave school?
Joshua Webb: I want to be a builder and have a good happy life when I'm older. My part time job will be working at a motor bike shop.
Georgia Randall-Quard: I want to do something to do with music such as DJ and want to go to radio school.
Mason Neil: I want to be a DJ.
Tiana Tadrosse: I would like to work in the fashion and beauty industry.
3. Why do you think being a school leader is important?
Joshua Webb: The leader has to lead the school by example and set a standard so the people in your school follow you. A school leader also helps the students and all the teachers.
Georgia Randall-Quard: Because then someone has a role model to look up to you, it also teaches me life lessons and everyone should be proud to wear their school uniform.
Mason Neil: Because I like to set a good example to younger kids.
Tiana Tadrosse: I wouldn’t say being a school leader is important, I would say it is a privilege and an honour to have the responsibility to help my peers.
4. If you were the principal what would like to introduce?
Joshua Webb: I would introduce a swimming pool in case it got really hot one day. I would also introduce a proper football field and a proper soccer field so we can play real soccer and football.
Georgia Randall-Quard: I wouldn't change anything because our school is perfect the way it is. But if I had to introduce one thing it would be a pool or a water park.
Mason Neil: I would make inter-school sport for two terms not one.
Tiana Tadrosse: I would not like to introduce or change anything because I love the way our school is already. What Mr Montgomery does for our school is just amazing.
