A young girl suffered burns to her legs and feet after she stumbled into the remains of a camp fire in Lower Portland yesterday (Sunday).
A CareFlight spokesman said ambulance paramedics alerted CareFlight to the girl’s injuries shortly after 2 pm.
The helicopter landed at the water ski park to find the girl had been running bear-footed in the park and stumbled into the smouldering remains of a camp fire left by another family.
The CareFlight doctor stabilised the seven-dear-old girl from Clovelly then, when paramedics arrived, they took her to where the helicopter landed.
The girl was flown by CareFlight to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition.
