North West Rail Link second environmental impact statement released

The North West Rail Link's second environmental impact statement was released today.

The document focuses on design and operation of the eight new railway stations, commuter parking for 4000 cars, transport interchanges and station design.

State transport minister Gladys Berejiklian said: ''we are building a piece of infrastructure that will completely change the way of life for people across Sydney, benefiting generations to come''.

''So we need to get it right from the start and the community is a critical part of that.''

The community have until December 3 to comment on the statement.

Tunnel boring machines are expected to be in the ground by 2014 with construction to take five or six years.
