Kim Kardashian's bodyguard Pascal Duvier has no regrets about the night of Paris heist

Breaking his silence to Fairfax Media for the first time since the robbery, the 43-year-old said: "I don't like to waste my time on thoughts about 'what if' or 'what could have been if…'. Many good and many bad things happen. Life is a chain reaction of decisions and actions you take, you can't choose only to change certain things. Every change affects everything."

When pressed for further details about the robbery, the notoriously private bodyguard would not be drawn so as not to "compromise the investigations".

On the night Kardashian West was gagged, bound and robbed in an apartment during Paris Fashion Week, Duvier was at a nearby nightclub protecting her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.

French police charged three men in connection with the robbery on Thursday.

After more than three years of service, it has been widely reported that Duvier was let go by Kardashian West and rapper husband, Kanye West, shortly after the heist, however, he would neither confirm or deny this.

"This is a question that comes up often and to be honest it doesn't matter if I do or I don't [work for Kimye]... The client should be the one answering that question," he said.

But when asked what his plans were for the year ahead, he perhaps gave away a hint about his employment status for America's unofficial first family: "[I am looking] forward to new challenges, offers and tours with existing and new clients."

While the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star shunned the spotlight for three months post-robbery, Duvier went through a difficult time with some unverified reports saying it was an "inside job". Even his two young daughters suffered the consequences, he says.

"Everybody close to me was harassed to get answers about me. Not cool, but it's the way this type of industry works," he explained.

Duvier, who is adored by Kardashian fans, shared a selfie from Paris this week and told Fairfax Media he would not avoid the City of Light despite the painful memories: "If I would try to avoid all places I had bad memories, then I can't even stay home. [I am] not avoiding anything. Unfortunately everywhere you are nowadays you have to be careful."
