A provisional driver has been caught drink driving after a man became stuck under his car.

A provisional driver, 23, will face court next month on drink driving and dangerous driving charges after a man became stuck under his car in Galston.

Emergency services were called to Arcadia Road, following reports a man had become trapped under a car just before 1am on Saturday, May 13. 

It is believed a man, 26, jumped onto the bonnet of the car, which was being driven by the P-plate driver, before sliding off and getting stuck under the vehicle.

The 26-year-old man was treated for a broken leg before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Ku-ring-gai officers spoke to the P-plate driver.

He was given a breath analysis, which returned a positive reading. A further breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.152

The 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving with a high range prescribed concentration of alcohol and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm while under the influence.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on June 8.

Drug detection in Baulkham Hills

An Ashfield man, 32, will face court after he was discovered with drugs and drug paraphernalia in Baulkham Hills.

Police were patrolling when they saw two vehicles parked on Renown Road at about 12.30am on Saturday, May 13 and spoke with the occupants.

Officers discovered a drug implement and bowl containing green vegetable matter in the man’s car.

He was charged with possession of a prohibited drug and is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on June 21. 

Thieves break into home

Police are investigating a break and enter at a home in West Pennant Hills.

More than $2000 worth of cash and jewellery, including a gold button, were stolen from the Marguerite Crescent home on Saturday, May 13 between 12.20pm and 10.20pm.

It is believed thieves gained entry into the home by removing a fly screen and forcing a ground floor window.
