The Hills Bulls Ron Massey Cup side have held on to a share of the top of the ladder with a 22-18 win over the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles.

With the four teams entering the weekend in a share of the lead – the Bulls, Sea Eagles, St Marys and Wenty Magpies – all playing each other, it was a huge clash at HE Laybutt Sporting Complex.

The Bulls dominated the first half, racing out to a 16-0 lead after 20 minutes through Chad O’Donnell, David Baumann and Sean Walpole.

The Sea Eagles got on the board late in the half to make it 16-6 and took the momentum into the second.

The home side snatched the lead in the 72nd minute when Shaun Fitzgerald scored his second for Blacktown.

Wayward kicking left the door open for the Bulls to fight back and halfback O’Donnell’s second gave the Bulls a famous victory.

O’Donnell could have had a hat-trick but was denied with two minutes remaining due to a double movement call.

The Sydney Shield side fell to a 44-4 loss earlier in the day.

With nine players who were unavailable for the weekend, both grades will be stronger this weekend against the Western Suburbs Magpies at Crestwood Oval.
