At this stage, if you hired Mariah Carey for your upcoming film and didn't get any behind-the-scenes "diva behaviour", you'd almost be disappointed.
The singer's outrageous antics on the set of her upcoming movie The House - a comedy starring Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell - has ruffled the feathers of its cast and crew, according to co-star Rob Huebel.
"We did some reshoots with a pop star named Mariah Carey. It did not go well," Huebel, best-known from his recurring role in Transparent, told Entertainment Weekly.
According to the actor, Carey's demands began before she even arrived on set, with the pop star requesting her trailer be decorated with white roses and stuffed lamb toys (the singer's fans are referred to as her "little lambs" and "lambily").
When she finally turned up for her one day of work, she was fours late and not feeling the material, Huebel said.
"She was hired to sing one song, and she was like, 'You guys, I don't want to sing that song.' They're like, 'We hired you to sing this song'." he told EW.
The actor also said that Carey wasn't too thrilled with her character's fate in the film, and kindly suggested a few re-writes.
"They were going to do this bit where they shoot her, I think, and they kill her... But she didn't want that," said Huebel.
"She was like, 'I don't think my character would get killed by bullets. What if I deflected them like Wonder Woman?'"
The film's crew - which include director Andrew Jay Cohen (Neighbours) and Ferrell's longtime producing partner Adam McKay (Anchorman, The Big Short) - eventually had enough.
"They were like, 'Mariah, we don't have time for this. You're getting paid so much money. We have you for one day. We don't have time to argue with you. Just do it.'" Huebel said.
"She just didn't want to do what they wanted her to do."
Despite her stellar pop career, Carey's had a few false starts in Hollywood.
Since her lambasted leading turn in the 2001 camp classic Glitter, she's had smaller roles in films including Lee Daniels' Precious and The Butler.
Later this year, she's set to feature in an animated film based on her Christmas hit All I Want For Christmas Is You.
Despite her reputation for diva antics, Carey's reality series Mariah's World, which followed her on tour last year as her relationship with billionaire James Packer was disintegrating, drew disappointing reviews and muted interest when it aired on E! in December, largely due to its lack of backstage theatrics.
Huebel said he wasn't sure if, after her on-set shenanigans, Carey had made The House's final cut.
"Just know, if you see her, they had to work for it," he said.
The film is out in cinemas locally on June 29.
