They've been crowned the cr??me de la cr??me of Australia's highrises.
The brand-spanking new, 65-storey Eq. Tower in Melbourne's CBD was only finished last month but has already won an award for best architecture in an Australian residential highrise at the Asia Pacific International Property Awards held last Friday.
Central South Yarra in Yarra Street, developed by Little Projects, was declared Australia's overall best highrise residential development.

The 30-storey modern residential landmark, completed in late 2015 and housing 357 apartments, is known for its striking facade, designed by Rothelowman.
Built to create a luxurious resort-style feel for its residents, the building includes a rooftop retreat area with 360-degree views of Melbourne.
All of its one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouse suites sold off the plan a year before it was completed.

Over in A'Beckett Street, Eq. Tower was designed by award-winning architects Elenberg Fraser and comprises of a whopping 633 apartments, a retail precinct and six levels of car parking.
The building also includes two karaoke suites, a cinema room, games room, gymnasium, 25-metre swimming pool, spa, sauna and shared bicycles.

Elenberg Fraser associate director Jeremy Schluter said the building was unique because its design was borne of the functional planning of the site.
"It looks like a really sexy perfume-shaped bottle, or wine glass or has the hour-glass shape to the exterior of the building," he said. "But that's not an arbitrary shape we applied just because it looks good."
Instead, a parametric equation factored in data about aspects and views, sunlight, weather patterns and wind pressure "to tell us what this particular site wanted".

The future of apartment towers is in full-amenity highrises, Mr Schluter said, and residents were now at the forefront of the design.
The market was moving away from one type of apartment being duplicated across hundreds of units, he said.
"We're seeing a lot more customisation, a lot more individuality in highrise construction."
If you were interested in buying, bad luck. The apartments are completely sold out. In fact, 80 per cent sold within two months.
One-bedroom apartments started at $359,000, while a three-bedroom flat with two bathrooms had a price tag upwards of $841,000.
The $330 million Eq. Tower project was built by a joint venture between Melbourne-based developer ICD Property and Sino-Ocean Land, one of China's largest land developers.

The International Property Awards are judged by an independent panel of 70 industry experts, who look at design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.
