TRIBUTE TO POP: Sam Harmon will put on a Just Bieber tribute show at The Australian Hotel and Brewery and said he is a fan of the Bieber himself.

Despite Sam Harmon only beginning singing lessons less than two years ago, he is already confidently taking his talents to the stage.

The 16-year-old will perform a Justin Bieber tribute show alongside a group of Bieber backup dancers at The Australian Hotel and Brewery on Saturday.

“I learnt all of the Bieber songs and I’m ready to give the audience members what they want,” he said.

The hour long all-ages show will have the audience singing and dancing to Bieber’s up-beat pop songs and intimate acoustic tunes.

“The dancers are amazing and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store for them,” Harmon said.

“I even died my hair so I could look as close as possible to Bieber. I’ll also wear an outfit similar to the ones he wears.”

The Hornsby resident said he loves singing and did a little bit of dancing when he was little, but without professional dancing lessons.

When asked whether singing and dancing was a natural talent, he said he isn’t really sure how good he is as a performer.

I just get out there and sing and dance and do what I love. I really enjoy it.

“I just get out there and sing and dance and do what I love. I really enjoy it,” he said.

“As long as it’s entertaining for everyone else then I’m happy.”

The teen is no stranger to the stage. He enjoys participating in musical theatre and is a member of the Sydney Youth Musical Theatre.

“It’s an amazing company,” he said.

“I’ve done about four shows with them over the last couple of years and I love doing it. I’m not only doing what I enjoy most, but I’ve met some really interesting people from all areas of Sydney.”

In his very first musical theatre show he played a Lost Boy in Peter Pan and is currently rehearsing as a featured ensemblefor the upcoming musical Monty Python’s Spamalot, which tells the legendary tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail.

“I played LeFou in their recent junior production of Beauty and the Beast,” he said. “I was pretty stoked to get that role because I was up against a lot of talented people.”

The year 11 student from St Leo’s Catholic College in Wahroonga played the lead role of Sky Masterson in the recent school musical Guys and Dolls.

“It was an honour to get the lead role in a true classic,” he said. “I’m so grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve been given and I’m so keen to do even more in the future.”
