A man has been charged with several offences following a police pursuit at Northmead .

Police from The Hills Traffic & Highway Patrol Command were undertaking stationary speed enforcement on Windsor Road just after 1.30am on Saturday, June 17.

The officers allegedly detected a grey Nissan Pulsar travelling at 130km/h in the sign posted 60km/h speed zone.

A pursuit was commenced when the driver failed to stop for police.

The pursuit ended when the driver of the Nissan hit a kerb and an oncoming vehicle in Bourke Street, North Parramatta.

The driver, 39, was arrested after a short foot pursuit and was breath tested at the scene with a positive result.

He was taken to Castle Hill police station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.126.

The man was charged with mid-range drink driving, police pursuit – not stop, exceed speed over 45km/h, drive while disqualified and his car was also confiscated.

He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday, June 17 and remanded to the same court on Monday, June 19.
