Significant upgrades for Schofields, Narellan, Campbelltown, and Appin roads and Memorial Avenue have each listed for funding in today’s State Budget.
Also to share in the $1 billion road works spend are several upgrades in in Riverstone, and planning for upgrades to Jane Street and Mulgoa Road in Penrith.
Treasurer Dominic Perrottet announced $482.5 million towards works on the Northern Road, with an additional $99.3 million to be spent on upgrading Bringelly Road in the 2017-18 financial year.
Along with the roads announcements, $25 million has been allocated for planning of the Parramatta Light Rail, while $10 million was put towards Parramatta River Services.
The funded upgrades go along with the larger road works, which are either planned or under way across Sydney, including the West Connex project, the F6 extension and Outer Sydney Orbital corridor.
Planning for the M12 Motorway was also listed in the Budget to receive funding of $21 million from both the state and federal governments.
Bells Line of Road stage 2 upgrades will continue, as will upgrades along the Great Western Highway at Forty Bends, Hartley Valley and Katoomba.
The works already under way on the Nepean River Bridge at Penrith received an addiitonal $20 million in funding to ensure they continue, while the Windsor Bridge Replacement Project received $7 million in funding to allow it to begin.
The Pitt Town Bypass also received $3 million for planning works.
The ongoing works along Showground Road at Castle Hill will continue, at a cost of $12 million.
Roads spending across the state will total an estimated $72.7 billion over four years according to the Treasurer.
