More than half of adults and one in five children in NSW are overweight or obese, which increases their risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke and type 2 diabetes later in life.

This month, The Hills Council will host a number of events as part of the new NSW Health ‘Make Healthy Normal’ campaign.

Head to Castle Hill Library on July 27 for the July health month fruit and veg sense workshop.

The 90 minute interactive session, presented by the Cancer Council, will teach parents how to save time and money by making healthy meals the whole family will enjoy. Participants will receive a recipe book.

The innovative program is a partnership between the council and Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) designed to spread the ‘Make Healthy Normal’ campaign message.

Suitable for parents of primary school aged children.

  • 6pm to 7.30pm, Thursday, July 27, Castle Hill Library, 14 Pennant Street, Castle Hill. Bookings essential: 9761 4510 or thehills.nsw.gov.au.
