A Barossa winemaker confessed in court on Monday to destroying 25,000 litres of wine, worth more than $60,000, at a rival company.
Lyndoch’s Trevor David Jones pleaded guilty in Adelaide’s District Court to two counts of damaging property at Kellermeister Wines.
The 59-year-old was facing charges of criminal trespass and property damage at Kellermeister Wines, Lyndoch, after police alleged he opened the taps on four tanks of 2011 chardonnay on Sunday, February 22, 2015, letting it drain away.
Mr Jones was a winemaker at his parent’s winery, Kellermeister.
He left in 2010 to start Trevor Jones Fine Wines.
He remains on bail ahead of sentencing submissions in October.
