FUN SCIENCE: CoLABS, an exciting outdoor event, will take place at Bungarribee Park, corner of Holbeche and Doonside Roads, Western Sydney Parklands these school holidays.  Entertaining and innovative art installations, created by artists and science professionals, will delight young children, teenagers and adults alike from Friday, September 29 until Sunday. DO IT YOURSELF: Find out how you can tackle at home projects this month as part of Bunnings Warehouse  Castle Hill, Dural and Thornleigh’s Adult DIY Workshops. Locals of all skill levels are invited to take part in the free hands-on workshops, held every Saturday and Sunday at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm. FOREST WALK: Take a Springtime Cumberland Forest bush walk on Thursday, October 5 from noon to 2pm with Greens MLC David Shoebridge and friends and hear about the Mirvac development application which threatens the forest. CHARITY EVENT: Castle Hill Art Society group The Friday Friends will hold an exhibition of paintings in aid of NSW Police Legacy from Friday, October 6 until Sunday, October 8, 10am-4pm daily, at Castle Glen Community Centre, Ridgecrop Drive, Castle Hill. The exhibition titled Reflections will be officially opened by David Elliott MP on Thursday, October 5 at 7.30pm. There will be a silent auction of several paintings, a raffle and original paintings for sale. Admission is free and refreshments will be served throughout the show. All welcome. Details: 9899 3179.
