Castle Hill RSL Dolphins finished off the short course swimming season with a swag of medals at the state championships.

It was a strong performance with Dolphins swimmers winning six medal.

Felicity Chan, 15, came away with outstanding results in the breaststroke events, winning gold in 100m and bronze in 200m.

“There is always a lot of support from my club especially and the people around me so it was really nice to get out there and race really well,” she said.

“Last year I won a national title for breaststroke [in long course] and I’ve always been a very keen breaststroker but it was nice to get a win at state because I haven’t done that in a while.”

Jordan Fitzgerald, 16, took out two bronze medals in the 50m and 100m freestyle.

“It felt good considering I wasn’t ranked to get either of those, it was good to get new PBs and show that all my training in the lead up paid off,” he said.

“It showed me where I was at with my events. My butterfly was a little bit lacking at state so I need to improve that for long course but it helps give motivation to go better next time.”

Harper Adams, who turns 12 later this week, competed in the under-12 state championships, winning gold in the 100m breaststroke and silver in 50m breaststroke.

“It was exciting because I didn’t think I would medal at state,” she said.
