The Hills District Little Athletics Club is on track for another record season with just under 800 athletes registered at the club.
It’s been a huge period of growth for the club, growing from 341 members nine years ago to current numbers, making Hills the third largest club in the state.
Club president Brooke Collins, who was awarded an Order of Australia Medal last year, said it was a great achievement for the organisation’s hard work.
“It’s all down to a strong committee who have worked tirelessly building the club up, and for their efforts have been rewarded with a record number of athletes again this season,” he said.
Last season, Hills had record numbers of athletes at every competitive level, including more than 100 competitors at state –giving it the second largest Little Athletics club representation in NSW.
The club is a regular recipient of funding from Castle Hill RSL, who have replaced several damaged and ageing shade tents with safety paramount for the children.
“It’s the support of sponsors such as Castle Hill RSL that has helped us over the last few years replace and update equipment such as new high jump bags and timing equipment,” Mr Collins said.
The club has also just received approval to build a new storage facility at its Roxborough Park base in Baulkham Hills.
