The Dural Warriors have stayed undefeated in the Football NSW Futsal Premier League competition with a 4-1 win over the South Coast Taipans at The Centre Dural on Saturday night.
Four rounds in, the Warriors have already stamped their authority on the competition with the side’s 50th open men’s win at home.
Locked at 1-all at half-time, a Greg Giovenali brace and goal to Vic Koutsoufis led the Warriors in the second half with three unanswered goals.
Dural coach Rob Varela told Football NSW it was a good result for the side.
‘It was a very entertaining game against a determined team who defended strongly and played quite well in attack,” he said.
“After conceding a goal on transition we came back strongly and equalised through a great finish by Brandon Vella, who is no longer a star of the future but a dominant player right now.”
“We took control in the second half creating many chances with Vic Koutsoufis breaking the deadlock and Greg Giovenali securing the win with a couple of good strikes – a good three points but we are looking to improve our overall play for the next coming games.”
The Warriors are away at Blacktown Leisure Centre next week to Mountain Magik, who are languishing in second last on the ladder.
