JONATHON Webb is edging towards his best ever finish in the V8 Supercar series after two top-10 finishes in Abu Dhabi this month.
The former Kellyville resident added 108 championship points to his driver's tally in round 13 to leave him 15th with two rounds remaining.
If he's to overcome his previous best finish of 13th in the 2010 driver's championship, Webb must first beat Holden rivals Russell Ingall, Michael Caruso and Rick Kelly in the four races remaining at Winton Motor Raceway and the Sydney 500.
"We're at the pointy end of the season so I'm hoping to carry some momentum," Webb said.
"I'm comfortable in my car and we're pushing hard to earn as many points as possible."
Webb, 28, recorded his best finish of the season last month at the Gold Coast 600 where he finished runner-up in race one with international driver Marc Lieb.
Race two wasn't as successful for the pair, however, as they finished the 102-lap marathon in 14th spot.
"It's taken me a little longer than I had hoped to achieve our pre-season goal of consistently appearing in the top 10," Webb said.
"The transition from Ford to Holden [this season] was always going to add some complexity and [it's] taken a while to become familiar with how the car performs."
Webb travels to Victoria this week to compete at Winton.
