Australia have claimed gold in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Australia's Emma McKeon, Alicia Coutts, Brittany Elmslie and Bronte Barratt clocked a Games record seven minutes, 49.90 seconds ahead of Canada (7:51.67) and England (7:52.45).
Australia have now won the women's 4x200m relay event at three straight Games.
It marked a third Glasgow gold medal for Games rookie McKeon and the the fourth on the night for the Australian squad.
Emily Seebohm defended her Commonwealth Games 100 metre backstroke title, holding off Welsh challenger Georgia Davis to touch first.
Fellow Australian Belinda Hocking produced a strong finish to take bronze, ensuring a double dose of green and gold on the podium.
Seebohm set a new Commonwealth Games record with a swim of 59.37, with Hocking also under the minute mark in 59.93.
It was Australia's third gold medal on the night.
Earlier, Taylor McKeown took out the women's 200 metres breaststroke and compatriot Sally Hunter winning silver.
McKeown powered away in the final 50m to win in a time 2:22.36 to produce an emphatic win, with Hunter touching the wall in 2:23.33.
Para-swimmer Daniel Fox Australia's first gold medal on the night when he comprehensively won the 200 metre freestyle (S8) final.
Fox set himself the task of breaking the world record in the heats, which he successfully achieved when he won in one minute 57.16, and wanted to repeat the dose in the final. However, he fell just short winning in 1:57.89. Fellow Australians Mitchell Kilduff (2:01.37) and Josh Alford (2:03.43) finished fourth and sixth respectively.
Fox's gold came after Cate and Bronte Campbell were upstaged in the 50m freestyle by England's Francesca Halshall, who won in 23.96. Cate Campbell finished second in 24.00 with Bronte Campbell third in 24.20.
Halsall touched out Cate Campbell to claim the gold in a new Games record time. Halsall was the fastest qualifier and withheld a late surge from Cate Campbell, the 100m world champion, to hold on before an enthusiastic crowd.
In the first race of the night Grant Irvine of Australia won a silver medal in the 200m butterfly behind Chad Le Clos from South Africa.
